The interpretation center evokes the power of the archbishops of Narbonne at the end of the Middle Ages, their interest in Capestang, the magnificence of the castle where the States of Languedoc sat and where the Duke of Berry stayed. The castle's ceremonial room is the highlight of the visit with its walls where the arms of France and B. de Fargues (5th century) alternate and, a real gem, the 140th century painted ceiling: XNUMX beams decorated with foliage on red background, carried by consoles on which are painted the mouths of Leviathan; XNUMX closoirs with the most varied themes: courteous love, nobles and peasants, real and fantastic animals, scenes of hunting and tournaments, religion and triviality.
