In the Mirror of the Canal – A Storytelling and Immersive Walk
Let yourself be carried away… and listen to the echoes of the past.

Embark on a unique experience along the water on the legendary Canal du Midi, between Colombiers and the famous Malpas Tunnel.

Aboard the "Echo Boat," let yourself be guided by a storyteller who becomes the thread of a timeless journey. At the slow pace of the voyage, the riverbanks come alive: characters from bygone eras, scenes of daily life, songs, and stories emerge before your eyes, immersing you in several centuries of history.

From the construction of the canal by Pierre-Paul Riquet to the stories of washerwomen, fishermen, revolutionaries or illustrious travelers like Thomas Jefferson, this immersive stroll blends theatre, heritage and poetry.

An original creation conceived and written by the team at the La Domitienne Tourist Office, brought to life by storyteller Philippe Charleux, and accompanied by extras from the L'Iris Noir company of Nissan-lez-Enserune, embodying emblematic characters of the canal (washerwoman, fisherman, historical figures…).

The navigation is provided by the company Cap au Sud, aboard the famous barge: La Capitane.
